The Greater Shawnee Chamber of Commerce has gotten off to a good start in 2018. There were 22 people present and sharing information about their business at the January 18 networking lunch. It was held at Van’s on Highland. The Chamber is rotating the lunches between our restaurant Chamber members who have room to accommodate our group. The February meeting will be at 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Country Club and Cindi Carter from SBA (Small Business Administration) will be giving a short presentation.

The committee chairs along with committee members for the various Chamber committees are setting objectives and goals for the coming year. The Legislative Committee along with GCTC are hosting the Step-Up Oklahoma meeting on January 29 from 11:45 to 1:00 p.m. (at Gordon Cooper Technology Center). David Rainbolt, BancFirst president will be the speaker and lunch will be served.

The following committees will meet at the Chamber Conference room at 231 N. Bell, Shawnee: Education and Workforce Development will meet on February 13 at 9:00 a.m. and Agri-business on February 28 at 9:00 a.m. The Shawnee Business Council will be announcing their meeting date soon. Our next Ambassador meeting is February 7th, followed by a Ribbon Cut for Cuckoo Bird & Dashing T Boutique! Ambassador's Meetings are on the 1st Wednesday of EVERY month.

The members of SEDF (Shawnee Economic Development Foundation) and COC (Chamber of Commerce) voted on January 10, 2018 to combine the two entities. On February 22, there will be a business after hours at the Shawnee Country Club from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the combination. It is open to all members of SEDF and COC and prospective members.
