Wonderful weather and a wonderful cause brought approximately 60 walkers to Shawnee Mall for the Pottawatomie March for Babies annual fundraiser in Shawnee. The walk has generated $17,000 in revenue to date with more monies coming in!
Honorary Chairman Chris Harden welcomed the walkers. The ambassador family was Gary and Amanda Cozart. The story of Braxton Cozart was shared at the kickoff luncheon. Kim Rawls led in prayer. Jimmy Criswell sang the National Anthem. After the walk, the team awards were given as well as numerous door prizes.
Top Corporate Team Division I was Arvest Bank, raising $6,148..
Top Corporate Team Division II was First United Bank, raising $2,064.
Top Family Team was Team Noah Wayne raising $575.00
Top corporate team walker was Kim Rawls and she raised $3,477
Our top three walkers were: Kim Rawls with Arvest Bank, raising $3,477; Michelle Sigman of First United Bank raising $1,413 and Peggy Rider with Bancfirst raising $1,343.
Local committee members are: Judy Cloud and Kayla Woody with First National Bank, Peggy Rider of BancFirst, Kim White of St.Anthony Physicians Shawnee, Jenniffer Podest and Mindy Palmer with Shawnee Mall and Kim Rawls of Arvest Bank. There are 144 reasons why we support the March of Dimes. In an average week in Oklahoma, 144 babies are born prematurely. While we were at the walk, twenty babies were born too small, too soon. We are working together so that one day……..all babies will be born healthy.
