Lincoln County commissioners on Monday approved a 14-day burn ban for Lincoln County, so county burn bans are now in effect in Lincoln, Pottawatomie and Seminole Counties.

With the resolution, it is unlawful for any person to set fire to any forest, grass, range, crop or other wildlands, or to build a campfire or bonfire, or to burn trash or other material that may case a fire.

Anyone convicted of violating the burn ban faces a $500 fine and imprisonment of not more than one year, or both.
