Voters in Bethel Acres decided in a special election Tuesday representatives on the town board of trustees in Wards 3 and 5, with unexpired terms to 2019.

Voters in Bethel Acres decided in a special election Tuesday representatives to serve on the town board of trustees in Wards 3 and 5, with unexpired terms to 2019.

• Ward 3: From the candidate pool, voters chose Tony Carlile, who secured the seat after receiving 78 votes (43.58 percent). Behind Carlile were Nick Loman, with 58 votes (32.40 percent); Wesley H. Bynum Jr., with 35 votes (19.55 percent); and Shawn Johnson, who received 8 votes (4.47 percent).

• Ward 5: After receiving 79 votes (46.75 percent), Karen L. Jones took the seat over her three opponents. Falling short were Blake Freeman, with 53 votes (31.36 percent); Timothy Belair, with 24 votes (14.20 percent); and Robert M. Smith Jr., with13 votes (7.69 percent).
