Tecumseh's Annie Boatman balances school, extracurricular activities and athletics while maintaining a 3.92 GPA.

She has been selected as one of the Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Students of the Month for January and is now in the running to win a car.

Boatman dedicates herself in the classroom and in all of the activities she's involved in.

“She has a genuine caring personality, is well liked and respected among her peers and teachers,” Tecumseh teacher Karen Lenaburg said. “She always strives to do her best and she is very humble even though she has many accomplishments both in the classroom and out.”

Boatman is active in planning events through Tecumseh's honor society. She was the driving force behind the school's Red Ribbon Week events.

“She also helps out in the classroom during her leadership hour,” Lenaburg said. “She has spent times with residents at BelFair in Shawnee as well.”

Along with being an active member in the Beta Honor Society, Boatman is student council member at Tecumseh High School.

Boatman is a student that displays strong moral character, Lenaburg said.

“Even when Annie had athletic injuries, she maintained a positive outlook,” she said. “ She has played basketball and softball during high school which requires many hours of hard work and dedication.”
