Fishmarket Road near the town of Tribbey will be getting a fresh coat of asphalt thanks to a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant.

At Monday's Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board announced District 2 was awarded the $26,620 REAP Grant.

Along with the grant money, the Town of Tribbey will donate $50,000 and the Tribbey Road and Alley fund will donate $20,000.

The four-mile section of Fishmarket Road that will receive the chip and seal is between Slaughterville and SH 59B.

In other commission news:

A-1 Fencing of Tecumseh was awarded the contract to fence the area surrounding the new District 2 building. A-1 was the low bid with a total construction cost of $15,850.

The Maud Senior Center donated a double oven, 10 range burner to Maud Public Schools.

No action was taken on the McLoud Schools paving bid.

The county burn ban expired but the Governor's burn ban is still in place.
