Shawnee Schools will be getting significant upgrades in the near future.

At Monday's Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board approved Shawnee Schools to start accepting HVAC bids for the high school's remodel to the Stucker Building.

The school's portion of the county's education sales tax will not cover the estimated cost of the renovation at the Stucker Complex, which is expected to be around $3,250,000 and is part of the Shawnee bond issue.

The estimated cost of the HVAC work is $210,000.

The commissioners accepted three bids for McLoud School's paving project around the bus barn and new middle school.

A-Tec Paving's bid was $133,500, H&G Paving's bid was $121,811 and B&S Construction's bid was $112,495.

Four bids were rejected due to non-compliance with the bid instructions. The commissioners will review the bids and award the contract at next week's meeting
