Lois Burns was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to John and Irene Stephens.

She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1944. Lois worked at Douglas Aircraft from 1944-1945 as a Rosie the Riveter.

She married Charles A. Burns on Feb. 28, 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A Burns in 2002, and her three brothers, Gene Stephens, Howard Stephens and John Stephens.

She is survived by her twin sister Joyce Krick and husband Jimmy Krick, two children Karen Burns, Shawnee, and John C. Burns and wife, Janet Burns of Shawnee, three grandchildren John C. Burns II, Oklahoma City, Benjamin J. Burns and wife Tiffani, Norman, Leslie Daniel, Muskogee, niece Joye Mahoney and husband Dennis, Illinois, three great-grandchildren Haley Wayerski, Muskogee, Laurel Croftcheck and husband Colten, Muskogee, Charlie A. Burns, Oklahoma City, and two great-great-grandchildren Grey and Bristol Croftcheck.

She was, up until her death, the oldest living member of Immanuel Baptist Church, having joined in 1943. She was also a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class at Immanuel.

There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held at Resthaven Chapel in Shawnee on March 13, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
