At Monday's Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners meeting, the board approved Wanette Schools to purchase a new HVAC system.
The project was awarded to Air Force 1 A/C & Heating, L.L.C., in Tecumseh for a total cost of $18,896.56.
According to an e-mail from Wanette Superintendent Sylvia McNeely, three other bids were submitted but two were vague in their description and the other had done work previously that was not satisfactory.
Wanette Schools will use funds available to the district from the county's education sales tax.
In other commission news:
T&T Watertight will do an inspection of the courthouse, and locate all the cracks in the masonry and the give an estimate for silicone sealant and limestone and marble protector for various spots in the courthouse.
The inspection will determine if the county needs to go out for bid for sealing various spots at the courthouse.
District 2 declared an HP Laser printer and plans to donate it to either Macomb or Wanette School, Commissioner Randy Thomas said.
The Public Health Nurse Services with the Pottawatomie County Health Department and the county commissioners approved Ruby Redfield to serve as school nurse for Maud, Macomb, Wanette and Asher Schools.
Redfield will help each school with various tasks, including providing medical administration education to school students and assist in providing guidance for the control of communicable disease.
Next week's commissioners meeting will be held at the County Commissioners office at 14101 Acme Road in Shawnee.
