Franklin Ray Harris, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in Shawnee.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Harris; daughter, Lindsey and husband Dennis Lee of Oklahoma City; son, Ryan Harris of Shawnee; granddaughter, Skylar Lee of Oklahoma City; parents, Eual and Maria Harris of Francis; brothers, Roy Harris and Mary Pruitt of Duncan, Randy and Tammy Harris of Mustang; father-in-law, Bill Sparks of Sigler; brother-in-law, Gerald Cleveland and Shelly of Owasso; nieces, Lee Ann and Kasey Gipson of Oklahoma City, Tori Harris of Mustang, and Courtney and Carlos Finocchiaro of Owasso; nephews, Brent Harris of Oklahoma City, Connor Harris of Mustang and Kenny Cleveland of Owasso; great-nephew, Logan Gipson of Oklahoma City; great nieces, Brooklyn Harris of Oklahoma City, and Gianna Finocchiaro of Owasso and many other loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jahaun and Anna Marie Kraus; paternal grandparents, Isom Franklin and Nettie May Harris; and mother-in-law, Hilma Sparks.

Frank graduated from Byng High School in 1973, received his bachelor’s degree from East Central University and master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

He spent his first few years working at Muskogee Health Department and Indian Health Service in Claremore. In 1981, he began working for Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and retired as director of dairy services in 2011. Shortly after, he began a new journey with FDA as regional milk specialist where he was currently working.

Frank was a very devoted husband and father. He spent a lot of time coaching Lindsey and Ryan at a very young age and followed them through college sports. He loved his family, being outdoors, helping his parents on family farm, working out, buying new toys and keeping up with sports.

He had a kind heart and treated everyone with respect. He will be deeply missed.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, at Criswell Funeral Chapel in Ada. Burial will follow at Francis-Cedar Grove Cemetery in Ada.
