The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a head-on collision in Seminole County Tuesday morning killed an Asher man and critically injured a man from Shawnee.
That accident occurred about 8:22 a.m. on SH 3, just south of county road EW1190, which is about two miles north of Seminole.
The patrol said a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Brian Gentry, 34, Shawnee, was northbound on SH 3 and went left of center, striking head-on a southbound 2000 Peterbilt driven by Byron Cole, 57, Asher.
The OHP reports Cole died at the scene from injuries he suffered in the accident.
Gentry was transported by Medi Flight to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was listed in critical condition with internal trunk, head, arm and leg injuries, the OHP said.
Cause of the collision remains under investigation by the patrol.
Seats belts were equipped and in use by Cole, but not by Gentry, the OHP said.
