DALE— The Class 4A top-ranked Dale Lady Pirates continued with their winning ways with an 11-0 win over the fourth-ranked Washington Lady Warriors, Monday afternoon.

DALE— The Class 4A top-ranked Dale Lady Pirates continued with their winning ways with an 11-0 win over the fourth-ranked Washington Lady Warriors, Monday afternoon.

The game was shortened, surprisingly not by the rain, but by 4-inning run rule.

The Lady Pirates took an early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but came to life during the second at bat.

Mikayla Rutland homered in the bottom of the first on a a blast to center field to give Dale the 1-0 lead after one.

Dale then scored eight runs against the second inning, ending any doubt to the outcome.

Jobey Savage led off the inning with a single to center before Lacey Savage answered with a double to right field. Shortstop Emmie Idleman scored both Savage's with a double to center field. C=London Calvillo then scored Idelman on an infield single to keep the threat alive. Sara Lock then single to set up Delanie Manning with runners on the corners.

Manning answered, big time, with a three-run blast to center field, increasing the Dale lead to 7-1.

The Lady Pirates weren't done.

Rutland then doubled to center and was brought home off of the bat of Skyler Thompson who belted a blast over the center field fence. When the dust (or mud) settled, the Lady Pirates led 9-0 after two innings.

During the Dale hit parade, defense for the Lady Pirates emerged. Kaylee Lawson and the defense behind her didn't surrender a single base runner in the four innings of ball. Lawson was credited with the no-hit shut out and gave Washington its' first loss of the season.

Dale was held scoreless in the third inning, but ended the game in the fourth.

Lock singled to center, setting up Manning. Manning did not disappoint as she hit her second home run of the game, giving Dale the 11-0 win in four innings.
