A Shawnee man is jailed on numerous complaints following a weekend pursuit that ended in crash.
Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said it was just before 9 p.m. Sunday when officers responded to a construction business in the northeast part of the city for a call abut two stolen vehicles.
At 9:47 p.m., officers located one of the stolen vehicles and initiated a pursuit of a 2013 White GMC pickup, which went northbound into Lincoln County.
Officers were pursuing the vehicle down a gravel road in the area of U.S. 62 and 3380 Road in Lincoln County, when one police unit departed the road way to the right causing it to flip over. Two officers were treated for minor injuries and released.
Lozano-Stafford said the driver of the stolen truck was identified as John Tooman, 32. He was arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Shawnee Police Department in the 32000 block of Hazel Dell Road, McLoud.
Tooman was booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center on complaints of possession of stolen property, eluding a peace officer while endangering others and possession of controlled dangerous substance.
Tooman remained jailed Monday on a $20,000 bond.
Formal charges have not been filed in Sunday's incident.
