After 19 seasons as a member of the Dale Lady Pirates basketball program, Josh Forsythe resigned his position as head coach last weekend.
“I have been blessed to coach some very good kids,” Forsythe said. “This was a tough decision but I felt it was best for my family and the program.”
Over the seven and a half years at the helm of the Lady Pirates' squad, Forsythe compiled a record of 201-36. During his career at Dale, Forsythe's teams made it to four state tournaments and finished at runner-up for the 2016-2017 season.
Under Forsysthe, the Lady Pirates won the prestigious Bertha Frank Teague tournament on two occasions.
Forsythe did not rule out a return to the coaching ranks in the future.
“We have made Dale home for the last 20 years,” He said. “This is a great place to raise a family. I'll sit back and assess the situation and see what makes the most sense.”
