Pottawatomie County, TSET Heathy Living Program is proud to recognize the 31 local entities who have been awarded the Certified Healthy status for the year of 2017. Certified Healthy Oklahoma is a statewide certification process that recognizes entities, free of charge, for going above and beyond to make health and wellness a priority. The program is open to businesses, campuses, communities, congregations, early childhood programs, restaurants, and schools.
Pottawatomie County ranks 32nd out of the 77 counties in the state of Oklahoma in regards to health. Though the ranking has improved from 2017-2018, 37th to 32nd, there is still room for improvement. A factor that plays a major role in improving the health of Oklahoma residents is to provide a variety of opportunities for them to make healthier choices where they live, work, learn, play, and pray.
These certifications not only help provide opportunities for Pottowatomie County to support health policies and individual decisions in regards to health outcomes, but it also helps the community to recognize that there is a need and people who are willing to step up in our community to meet the need of a healthier county. We would like to acknowledge and congratulate those entities who chose to participate and implement Certified Healthy Oklahoma and were awarded for their efforts in improving public health.
Certifications are awarded by the following levels dependent upon the number of criteria that they fulfilled: Basic, Merit, and Excellence. The following entities received recognition by the Certified Healthy program. They are sorted by program area and certification level.
