Mark Sehorn is announcing he is a candidate for the Shawnee City Commission, Ward 5 seat.

Sehorn has been a businessman since 1984 after purchasing Sehorn Yamaha.

He was born and raised in Shawnee and has lived in Ward 5 for 30 years. He attended Shawnee Public Schools and Oklahoma Baptist University.  He is a member of First Baptist Church.

Sehorn has served on the Yamaha Dealer Council for 2 years, is currently a member of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, and is serving on the Board of Directors for First United Bank. He was selected by the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce as 2013 Business Person of the Year.

He and his wife Cathy have two children, Julia (Sehorn) Holland and husband Bryce, Matthew Sehorn and wife Chelsea, and one grandson, Cooper Holland.

Sehorn, an avid supporter of education, first responders, and new and local businesses, said he has the loyalty, dedication and experience that would make him an asset to the Shawnee City Commission.
