The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a deadly shooting on Rolling Hills Drive near Pink late Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday night, Sheriff Mike Booth identified the shooting victim as Richard Kolb, with a birthdate in 1977. He said Kolb was shot in the chest after a physical altercation.

After a physical altercation at the home, the victim left and came back with a gun and allegedly shot at a vehicle at the residence, Booth said.

The suspect then retrieved a weapon as the victim attempted to enter the house, Booth said, and a shot was fired, resulting in Kolb's death.

The sheriff's office continued processing the scene Wednesday evening as part of a search warrant, Booth said, and the investigation was ongoing at press time.

The alleged suspect voluntarily went to the sheriff's office for questioning Wednesday evening, Booth said.
