Michael Ross Stewart Sr., 62 of Macomb, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, in Oklahoma City.

Michael Ross Stewart, Sr., 62 of Macomb, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, in Oklahoma City.

He was born March 17, 1956, to Charles and Helen Stewart in Plainview, Texas.

Michael was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma, and attended Edmond Memorial High School. He graduated in 1976 from Lawton High School.

Michael joined the military during high school, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged. After his military service he lived in Marietta, OK, and in the Guthrie area, before settling in the Macomb area 16 years ago.

He married Martha Teeter on July 26, 2000, in Gainesville, Texas.

Michael retired from Lexington Assessment and Reception Center as a Captain on March 31, 2018. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades, having worked as a logger, rodeo clown, police officer, welder and numerous other jobs. Michael loved working around people and never met a stranger. He loved fishing and horses, and most of all his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Stewart; and sister, Debbie Robbins.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Martha Stewart of the home; five daughters, Brandi and Jimmy White of Mulhall, Oklahoma, Crystal Cremeens of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Stacy and Chris Kennedy of Dickson, Oklahoma, Sheila and Ryan Cordell of Bokchito, Oklahoma, April Brunk of Dickson; three sons, Michael Stewart, Jr. of Del City, Oklahoma, Anthony Cole and Bailey Stewart of Kuwait, Justin and Katie Stewart of Macomb, Oklahoma, 25 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his mother, Helen Stewart, two sisters, Patricia and Frank Carpenter and Connie Stewart, brother, Chuck Parrett Sr., and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m., Monday, April 16, and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 16, at Cooper Funeral Home.

Service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Honeycutt, Crossroads Southern Baptist Church in Madill, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Macomb under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
