Greetings! It is amazing how the winds of the month of March have hung around, even into the month of May. Now, we need to focus on what is coming up, next Sunday: “Mothers' Day!” So, please don't forget all those beautiful Mother's Day cards that need to be in the mail this coming week. I miss searching for just that special card that would say everything that I wanted for my precious mother. Now, the years have gone by, and I am that great grandmother, and I always try to purchase my cards for those dear women in my family, early! The reason, so I won't forget!

Greetings!  It is amazing how the winds of the month of March have hung around, even into the month of May. Now, we need to focus on what is coming up, next Sunday: “Mothers’ Day!” So, please don’t forget all those beautiful Mother’s Day cards that need to be in the mail this coming week. I miss searching for just that special card that would say everything that I wanted for my precious mother. Now, the years have gone by, and I am that great grandmother, and I always try to purchase my cards for those dear women in my family, early! The reason, so I won’t forget!

Also, I like to search for just the right card, and if you wait until the last minute, all those beautiful cards are gone, and you will have to take what is left over! Be SURE to remember, wives, mothers, grandmothers, even special friends, as all mothers appreciate being remembered, appreciated, and loved. Well, here is some good news, for all that attend the Senior Citizens Center.

Ms. Kate hosted all the board members, or I guess it was all of us, as there were twenty-one gathered around several long tables, with several located behind us, that was loaded with delicious food! We had a good business meeting, and Ms. Kate brought everyone up to date on all of the events and about moving the kitchen back to the larger one, with all the tables going back into the large dining area. Ms. Kate is keeping everything up to par, and doing a fantastic job for the City of Shawnee, as the Center’s administrator. I am a volunteer at the Center, but also serve as one of the Board members. If you haven’t been down to visit and see what all is available, well come on down! Goodness, no need to sit home, and be lonely or blue, we have just the thing for you! There is dominoes, pool, crafts in some of the rooms, exercises at different times and on different days.

County and western music on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, so come eat lunch, as lunches are served Monday through Friday, for two dollars. Come on down, as Ms. Kate would say, and eat breakfast, then go up and play some pool or join in the exercise classes. The coffee pot is on from morning until closing, and popcorn is usually popped every afternoon. Card games, dominoes, pools, crafts, food and exercise, WOW, Senior Citizens, you can’t beat that, and you won’t be alone. So, come on down, and if you like to volunteer, Kate might even find a spot that is right, just for you.

Oh, yes, Folks, be sure to get your safety rooms and cellars or basements cleaned out, to make room for safe spots, as the storm season will be popping out of the sky, just any time now!! Well, you work on your yard or garden this week, try to meet some of your neighbors, make sure you find one of the many churches here in our fine city, that you will enjoy attending, as meeting and greeting all the precious church attenders here in the area, sure makes for some warm smiles to greet you and make you feel welcome. So, as one preacher used to say, “Come on down, as we have so many things going and so many different personalities, that surely, you can find something and someone that you will like! But, most of all, the Lord’s presence will be there! Have a blessed week and be thinking about what you will be getting for the beloved ladies in your life, with a gift as Mother’s Day is one week away, May 13th.
