A Tecumseh man who stood trial on drug charges this week was convicted and received a 40-year prison term.

The trial for Charles Henry Tarver Jr., 57, was held in Pottawatomie County District Court.

First Assistant District Attorney Adam Panter said David Hammer and Kathy Adams were prosecutors on the case with a felony charge of possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute.

Prior convictions were a factor in the sentencing recommendation, Panter said.
