At Monday's Tecumseh Board of Education meeting, the board gave an update on current bond projects, including the remodeling of the gymnasium and the school farm.
The gymnasium will undergo a complete renovation. Plans are to expand the lobby, which doubles as the middle school cafeteria, added seating space, new seating and new restrooms, Tecumseh Superintendent Tom Wilsie said.
The school will be accepting bids for the next three weeks and begin work soon after. The plan is to have the gymnasium overhaul complete by October, Wilsie said.
The school is currently working on finishing up plans for the new school farm and more official drawings will be complete in the next couple weeks, Wilsie said.
In 2016, voters in the Tecumseh School District passed a $12,395,000 bond that allowed the district to complete a number of improvements. Included in the bond issue was the new early childhood center, security entrances at various schools along with the gym renovation and school farm.
