Shawnee police have identified a Midwest City man who drowned Sunday morning at Shawnee Twin lakes.

On July 1, 2018, around 8:44 am, the Shawnee Police Department responded to a possible drowning at Shawnee Twin Lakes.

Shawnee Police Cpl. Vivian Lozano-Stafford said Little Albert Scott III, age 46, was fishing with his brother.

Due to storms moving in, the brothers were attempting to load their boat. As Scott was backing the trailer down the boat ramp, he noticed the boat drifting away from the dock. Scott exited the truck and jumped into the water attempting to retrieve the boat, she said.

While swimming toward the boat, Scott went under the water and never resurfaced. The Shawnee Fire Department responded and located Scott but were unable to resuscitate him.

The State Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Scott family during this tragic event," she said.
