Chandler will host the third annual Run4Love 5K and one-mile color runs Saturday, Sept. 22, to benefit the building program of Chosen House, a local non-profit serving women transitioning from incarceration.

The runs will start at 8:30 a.m. from the baseball field parking lot on the Chandler High School campus, 1600 West Park Road, and end in historic Tilghman Park. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Sponsor and pre-registered runner applications are due by Aug. 15 to ensure commemorative t-shirts are available, according to Kaetlyn Dickson, event coordinator. Registrations can be done at www.facebook.com/Run4LoveOK.

The 5K event features one straightaway, two hill grade climbs and two downhills. The course travels through park areas and residential areas on the west side of the city. Runners may choose to ope out of being “decorated” with powder.

Chosen House is raising funds to build more space for women learning job skills, re-entering the work force, and reuniting families, according to co-founder Mari Battle. The program has operated for several years out of one house, but needs additional living quarters for clients.

Coordinating sponsor for the event is the Central Church of Christ in Chandler. Previous Run4Love events have benefited a building project for the local God and Peoples Food Pantry and operating costs for Chosen House.
