MCLOUD —Lightning in the bottom of the seventh inning forced an end to Friday’s Latta-McLoud contest.

Unfortunately for the hosts, the Lady Redskins dropped a 2-1 decision because of the inclement weather.

Callie Cardin was on first base with one out and the possible winning run at the plate when the lightning occurred.

McLoud’s run came in the fourth when Gabby Sears ‘ single drove in Rachelle Stephens. Stephens was on base via an infield single.

McLoud recorded seven hits with Lexie Boyer earning two singles.

Sears was the hard-luck pitching loser, surrendering five hits and striking out eight in seven innings.

McLoud, 2-1, will travel to Prague Monday for a 5 p.m. varsity/JV doubleheader.
