With a week of high school athletics complete, there have been some solid performances already.

We are not quite to Player of the Week season, but these athletes deserve recognition for their individual accomplishments.

Kylee Lynch – Chandler Softball

Lynch has been on fire this week, pitching two consecutive shutouts. In games against Alva and Cleveland, the Lady Lions' ace pitched a total of 11 innings and struck out 23 batters. In those two games the opposition has two hits total. In three games early in the week, Lynch has two hits, three RBIS and three runs scored helping her Chandler squad to a 3-0 record.

David Herring – Dale Baseball

In the Pirates' first game of the Dale Pirate Invitational, Herring recorded five RBIs from the leadoff spot. He went 2-5 in the 12-2 win over Tushka and recorded a double and stole a base.

Trevor Martin – Asher Baseball

Martin helped his team to a first-round win at the Dale Pirate Invitational Thursday. He pitched six innings, striking out 11 and gave up one unearned run. His fastball appeared to hit the mid-90s throughout the game and overpowered the Oktaha batters.

Ashley Kasterke – Shawnee Volleyball

Kasterke helped the Shawnee Lady Wolves to a 2-0 record in their first week of action. She had a stat line of 29 kills, 12 digs and six aces in wins at Lincoln Christian and McAlester.

Olivia Barlean – Shawnee Volleyball

Barlean was on a roll Thursday night in Shawnee's home opener against McAlester. In the win, she scored 12 aces along with seven digs. In the game against Lincoln Christian, Barlean added nine digs and helped her team to a 2-0 record in the early stages of the 2018 campaign.
