MIDWEST CITY —Shawnee dropped to 0-2 on the young season with a 13-5 setback to Carl Albert Friday.

After being rained out of a scheduled game with Noble Tuesday, the Lady Wolves and Titans scheduled Friday’s game.

Shawnee compiled 11 hits but gave up seven walks. Contrastingly, Carl Albert recorded 14 hits but walked only one.

Sophomore Tatum Sparks of Shawnee was 3 for 4 at the plate with a triple, double and single. She drove in two runs and scored twice.

Kristin Haddox was 2 for 4 with a double, single and one RBI. Brittany Harmon of Shawnee delivered a two-run single and leadoff hitter Hallie Wilson had two singles.

“We didn’t play that bad but a good-hitting team makes you pay for those walks.”

The Lady Wolves will launch district play Tuesday night at Tulsa Edison. The squads will engage in a 4 p.m. varsity doubleheader.
