Bethel hosted Meeker, Western Heights and Crooked Oak in a scrimmage Friday night and the Wildcats and Bulldogs found their way into the spotlight all night.

In the rapid fire portion of the scrimmage, Bethel got a touchdown run of 40 yards from Matthew Melter. They also had a long touchdown catch from Drae Wood on a long pass from Gunner Smith.

Meeker also had a couple of long touchdown passes and long TD runs from Caden Wolford. Raceton Sedalek played well for Meeker on defense and also had a couple of nice receptions for the Bulldogs.

But when Meeker and Bethel faced off for a full quarter of live football, the Wildcats controlled the action.

Bethel drove down into the red zone before a Gunner Smith pass was intercepted. But a big hit from Melter forced a fumble and Bethel took over deep in Bulldog territory. Smith scrambled and found Devin Acklin for a 15 yard touchdown pass. The point after made it 7-0 with 5:10 left in the quarter.

Another Meeker fumble gave Bethel the ball back. Smith dropped back and this time he found Acklin on a go route for a 52-yard touchdown pass to make it 14-0 Bethel with 3:07 left in the quarter.

Smith just missed a third TD pass when Jaylon Gordon was ruled out of bounds on the one yard line after a long completion. Smith kept it on first down to give the Wildcats the 20-0 lead.

That is where the scoring ended. Jesse Tucker had an interception for Bethel and played well in the defensive backfield.
