TUTTLE— Bethel couldn’t quite climb out of a big hole Friday and dropped a 7-5 decision to Blanchard at the Chisholm Festival.
Blanchard held a 6-0 lead after four innings. Bethel then came up just short with three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Bethel, 3-4, compiled 10 hits, all singles, as Rian Gamble led the way at 3 of 4. Jordyn Zachary and Peyton Meiler added two hits apiece.
Zachary took the six-inning pitching setback after surrendering eight hits including a Micah Whitlow home run. Zachary whiffed seven and walked seven.
Bethel continues Festival action Saturday against Lexington at 1:30 and Bridge Creek at 3.
