LITTLE AXE — Backed by a good defensive outing from her teammates, Bethel’s Jordyn Zachary fired a two-hitter Tuesday in a 5-0 win over Little Axe.

Bethel didn’t commit an error with Rian Gamble leading the way by handling 11 defensive chances.

Zachary didn’t issue a free pass and fanned nine as 59 of her 83 pitches were strikes.

Eight Lady Wildcats were on the hit chart with Skylar Pollard leading the way with two. Pollard also drove in two runs.

Bethel’s Skylar Fletcher stole a base.

Bethel scored two runs in the first and fifth innings, then capped its scoring in the seventh.

Bethel, 7-4, will play in the Shawnee FireLake Invitational Tournament Thursday through Saturday. Bethel will launch play at 6 p.m. Thursday versus Noble. Bethel will contest Duncan at 10 a.m. Friday, then play two games Saturday — Guthrie at 10 a.m. and Carl Albert at 2 p.m.
