ROFF — Dale accumulated 18 hits Thursday in upending Fort Cobb 18-12 at the Roff Tournament.

The Pirates (10-2) smashed six home runs with Karson Hunt and Jared Rogers finishing with two apiece. David Herring and Jono Johnson also went long in the seven-inning slugfest.

Rogers, who also doubled, went 4 for 5 with three runs batted in and three runs scored.

Karson Hunt was 3 for 5, including a double, and drove in a team-high four runs. He also scored three times.

Austin Custar and Herring added doubles as Dale improved to 10-2.

Cooper Hunt, Tanner Collins, Herring and Johnson notched two hits.

Dale was in a 6-1 hole after two innings, only to retaliate six runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth.

“We started slow but really came on strong,” said Dale head coach Eddie Jeffcoat.

Bryce Crawford, the second of three Dale pitchers, had the most success — giving up just one run and one hit in three innings. Crawford fanned three and walked two in relief of starter Karson Hunt. Ike Shirey hurled the final two innings.

Fort Cobb finished with 12 hits, including a home run and double.

Dale will continue tournament play at 5 p.m. today versus Oktaha.
