STILLWATER — Delanie Manning fashioned a five-inning one-hitter Friday as Dale ripped Edmond Memorial 9-0 at the Oklahoma State Festival at Cowgirl Stadium.
The game was stopped after five innings on the eight-run rule.
Memorial’s hit was a third-inning single. The only other Memorial baserunner came on an error. Manning fanned six.
Jobey Savage spearheaded Dale’s 10-hit offense with a solo home run and two singles.
Danyn Lang and Rylie Premo both doubled and singled.
Six of Dale’s runs were unearned as the result of four Memorial errors.
Dale netted four runs in the first and second innings, then completed its scoring with a run in the top of the fifth.
“We played pretty well,” Dale coach Andy Powell said. “It was nice to play on OSU’s field. We had looked forward to it.”
Dale will entertain Luther Monday in a 4:30 doubleheader. The Lady Pirates will participate in the Tushka Tournament Thursday and Friday.
Tushka will be a tough test for us. There are six state tournament teams from our class (2A) in the field. We will see where we are at,” Powell said.
