Shawnee went 1-1 Friday at the FireLake Invitational.

Coach David Rolette’s squad launched the day with a 7-1 triumph over Woodward as Stormee Reed tossed a five-hitter. Reed fanned three and walked three in a seven-inning stint.

Tatum Sparks led Shawnee’s five-hit attack with two singles. The Lady Wolves were also the recipient of four walks and several Woodward errors.

Kristin Haddox of Shawnee registered a double and single.

Shawnee wasn’t so fortunate against Durant, losing 3-2. Both Shawnee runs came in the second inning. Haddox walked and moved to third on a Karly Torbett single. Torbett then stole second and both runners scored on Brittany Harmon’s single.

Durant got solo home runs in the second and fourth innings, then received back-to-back doubles in the fifth, accounting for the winning run.

Losing pitcher Bailey Enright went the distance. Enright permitted five hits, fanned four and walked one in seven innings.

Shawnee, 6-4, will continue Invitational play at noon today against McAlester.
