PRAGUE — Tecumseh, behind two strong pitching outings from Harley Sturm, defeated Meeker, 5-0, and Prague, 4-1, Thursday at the Prague Tournament.
Sturm allowed Meeker five hits, all singles, while fanning five and walking one.
Tecumseh got all the runs it needed with three in the bottom of the first.
Leadoff batter Channing Scallorn posted two singles to lead Tecumseh’s five hits. Channing and Ayzia Shirey both scored twice while Kylee Akehurst drove in two runs.
Against Prague, Sturm scattered seven hits, including Beth Denney’s double.
Emily Bingham led Tecumseh’s eight-hit offense by going 3 of 3 with a double and two singles. Scallorn and Sturm fashioned two hits each, including a double.
Sturm knocked in a team-high three runs. Scallorn and Shirey scored twice.
Tecumseh, 7-5, won’t see tournament action today but will play Saturday against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
