BETHEL – The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the first inning, beating Bishop McGuinness 16-2 Monday evening.
Bethel added four more runs in the second inning, one in the third and three more in the fourth inning. McGuinness scored one run in the second and one in the fourth.
There were nine Lady Wildcats who recorded hits in the game. Skylar Fletcher and Peyton Meiler led the team with three hits apiece. Meiler had two RBIs and scored two runs. Fletcher drove in one and scored a run.
Rian Gamble, Reanna McGowen, Jordyn Zachary and Kennedy Gregory all had two hits in the game. Gamble had two RBIs. Zachary and Gregory had one RBI each.
Bethel's Shelby Spurgin, Madison Roberson and Lilla Wade all had one hit in the game. Spurgin had one RBI and scored three runs. Roberson contributed one RBI and one run. Wade scored one run.
McGowen stole three bases and Gamble swiped two. Pollard, Spurgin and Jordan Blair all stole one base in the win.
Zachary picked up the win, going three innings, striking out seven. Gregory and Fletcher pitched one inning apiece in relief.
Bethel returns to action Tuesday with a home game versus Harrah. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
