DALE – On the night coach Andy Powell received his slow pitch hall of fame ring, the Dale Lady Pirates dominated the doubleheader against Luther, winning 12-0 and 19-0.

“Overall I think we played really well,” coach Andy Powell said. “Our district games have been a little disappointing with the weaker schedule but we have some good competition coming up this weekend so this was a good tune-up.”

Delanie Manning led off the game with a walk. Emmie Idleman's triple scored the courtesy runner, Anna Hester, to give Dale a 1-0 lead.

Addie Bell singled that scored Idleman and the Lady Pirates took a 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Sara Lock hit a ball to the fence for a triple and brought home Bell for a 3-0 advantage. The next batter, Rylie Premo walked and stole a base before a Sydney Griggs double brought Premo and Lock home. At the end of the first inning, Dale led 8-0.

In the second inning, Lang hit a double and was replaced on second by Karleigh Landreth. Next to the plate Bell brought her home with a triple. The next batter, Savage kept the momentum going with a sacrifice, scoring Bell.

To continue the trend, Lock hit another ball to the fence for her second hit of the day. Premo brought Lock home with an RBI single, extending Dale's lead to 8-0.

Lock and Premo walked in back-to-back at bats. Premo's walk gave the Lady Pirates an 11-0 lead before Griggs ended the game with an RBI single.
