CHICKASHA — McLoud experienced a pleasant road trip Tuesday, sweeping Chickasha 17-7 and 5-3.

Gabby Sears earned both pitching victories as McLoud moved to 9-8.

In the opener, McLoud trailed 6-1 but responded with a six-run frame to switch the momentum. The Redskins had another six-run uprising in the fifth.

McLoud accumulated 20 hits in six innings as Callie Cardin led the way with two doubles, a home run and a single in five plate appearances. Cardin drove in five runs and scored four times.

Also going 4 for 5 was leadoff hitter Shyann Shipman, who scored four runs and drove in two.

Jessie Wooten added four singles and three runs while Sears doubled and singled. Rachelle Stephens and Karlie Norwood also doubled.

Sears permitted nine hits, fanned five and walked two.

In the seven-inning nightcap, Sears was touched for seven hits. She whiffed six.

Taylor Kennedy and Sears doubled. Lexie Boyer recorded three singles in the 10-hit attack.

McLoud will venture to Kingfisher Thursday with play starting at 5.
