The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office is asking for help from citizens to assist in locating a person of interest in an assault and battery case.  Around 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, deputies took a report from a citizen who stated they were walking when offered a ride by a motorist in the area of Hwy 9 and Bethel Road just outside of the City of Tecumseh.  The citizen thought it was an offer for a ride home and when the driver drove past the road to the citizen’s residence, it was later discovered not to be their intentions at all.

The driver then drove several miles south of Tecumseh on Hwy 177 and began physically assaulting the citizen. The citizen exited the vehicle to get away from the driver; the driver chased the citizen down and the physical assault resumed, with the driver forcing the citizen to the ground.

The driver is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with red hair. Age is approximately mid 30’s. He waswearing a green t-shirt and camouflage shorts with noticeable tattoos of brick in black and white on both forearms.

The citizen described the vehicle as a white van or box truck with a black circle logo with yellow trim around the outside with red flames on the inside. It also contained lettering but it is unknown.  The citizen remembers the driver stating they worked for a meat delivery service or company.

If anyone knows who this person might be please contact Deputy Travis Dinwiddie at (405) 273-1727 or email him at deputy.dinwiddie@pottcoso.com.
