Shawnee Splash fall hours end this weekend

Shawnee Splash will end its swim season at 6 p.m. Sunday — this weekend.

The last days to participate in Splash hours are:

• from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday — 11 a.m. for season pass holders; and

• from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday

Rezone request made to Planning Commission

A public hearing is set at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for a rezone request by Charles and Connie Rutherford for property at 1 Country Club Road, which is east of Bryan Avenue along Highland. The couple is seeking approval of a rezone from A-1 (Rural Agricultural) to R-1 (Single-Family Residential).

City encourages public input at Design Studio

A few Comprehensive Design Workshops are planned this week for residents willing to provide input and feedback.

Community Development Director Justin DeBruin said interested participants do not have to stay the entire duration of the workshops.

“There will not be a formal presentation that participants are required to attend and there is no required time frame for attendants to be at the workshop,” he said.

Workshops are:

• On Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Community Market of Pottawatomie County, 120 S. Center;

• On Wednesday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Shawnee Public Library, 101 N. Philadelphia; and

• On Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 419 E. Main (Across the street from the Blue Zones Project office.)
