TECUMSEH —Pitcher Harley Sturm wiggled out of several jams Thursday, propelling Tecumseh to a 3-1 win over Byng.

Byng outhit the hosts 8-5 but stranded nine baserunners. Sturm whiffed three and walked three in a route-going performance.

Tecumseh, 9-8, scored in the first, second and third innings. Emily Bingham got Tecumseh’s scoring started with a run-scoring single in the first.

Bingham posted two singles. Posting one single apiece were Channing Scallorn, Ayzia Shirey and Sturm.

Scallorn also stole a base.

Byng’s run came in the third.

Both teams committed two errors.

Tecumseh will travel to Dale Tuesday for a 4:30 varsity/JV doubleheader.
