PRAGUE — Brayden McGinnis produced three touchdown runs Friday night, fueling Prague to a 28-25 triumph over Lincoln County rival Stroud.
After a scoreless first quarter, Prague received touchdown runs of 6 and 9 yards from Branom Bailey and McGinnis for a 12-6 intermission advantage. The point-after kicks were blocked following both Prague touchdowns.
Prague led 20-13 after three quarters, thanks to an 8-yard scoring gallop from McGinnis. Branom Bailey converted the 2-point conversion via a run.
The final McGinnis scoring run, a 4-yarder, followed by a McGinnis 2-point conversion, put the score at 28-13 with :48 to play.
Stroud made it interesting, scoring on a 75-yard pass following the kickoff. But Stroud's onside kick was recovered by Prague to cement the decision.
Prague was a 20-6 loser to Cashion in its season opener.
“I am proud of our grit,” Prague coach John Graham said. “We had a lot of kids beat up but we made some plays. We ran the ball well and had a lot of toughness.
Prague, 1-1, will continue its non-district schedule Friday, Sept. 14 at Luther.
