SPS Assistant Superintendent Brent Houston shifted gears within the district Monday as he was sworn in to become school treasurer.

SPS Assistant Superintendent Brent Houston shifted gears within the district Monday as he was sworn in to become school treasurer.

He replaces Jennifer Stegman, who began the post in July last year after longtime business manager David Harp retired.

Stegman was formerly the director of academic services — the position Meggan Wilson stepped into once it was vacant.

According to the Board of Education agenda, Stegman's resignation as chief financial officer became effective Aug. 17.
