The Bethel Wildcats (0-2) will host the Little Axe Indians with the hopes of securing their first win of the season.

Bethel's two losses are by a combined five points. They fell to Tecumseh 38-35 in the season opener and 28-26 to McLoud last week. Even though they've yet to pick up a win, this team will make things interesting and the opposition better be prepared to score some points.

Little Axe lost to Bridge Creek 26-20 in the season opener and beat U.S. Grant 46-13 in week two.

Gunner Smith leads all area teams in passing with 580 yards and six touchdowns. His receivers, Devin Acklin (258 yards) and Drae Wood (186 yards) are currently ranked first and third respectively.

If Matthew Melter and the running game can get going, Bethel has a good chance at picking up their first win this week. Melter also leads the team in tackles with 30.

Keaton Robinson, Hunter Gambill, Gabel Ledbetter and Wood all recovered one fumble apiece on defense. Jesse Tucker intercepted one pass through two games.

Cache Hankins and Corey Metscher have sacked the quarterback once.

Kickoff is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Bethel High School.
