Tecumseh High School senior Caleb Kelsey, one of the two September finalists, was named The Shawnee News-Star and Patriot Auto Group Student of the Month for 2018-19 and is now is a finalist for a chance to win a car.

“In 35 years, I've seen a tremendous amount of quality students, but this young man is in a class by himself,” Tecumseh High School Principal Randy Dilbeck said.

Because of his academic excellence, moral integrity and volunteerism, Kelsey is now a finalist for a chance to win a car.

Dilbeck said Kelsey practices what he preaches.

“Kelsey guides, shapes and influences his classmates and team members with team-building and true Tecumseh spirit,” Dilbeck said.

Kelsey spends time as a volunteer working with his church food drive and Tecumseh FFA bikes for underprivileged children, as well as the FFA Thanksgiving Food Drive.

His Tecumseh Student Council projects are teacher breakfast, Salvation Army ringer, raising money for Pink Week and Christmas Angels for underprivileged children, Dilbeck said.

Kelsey said he is planning a career in Sports Broadcasting.
