McLoud police on Sunday said two teenagers are in juvenile custody on manslaughter complaints in Friday night's shooting death of a McLoud girl.

McLoud Police Chief Tom Pringle said the girl, identified as Kaylen Thomas, 16, was at a classmate's house in McLoud when she was shot in the head. She was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she later died, he said.

Pringle said police investigated the case all weekend and on Sunday made two arrests.

A 15-year-old girl who is believed to be the shooter is being held in the Sac and Fox juvenile facility, Pringle said. A 16-year-old boy who allegedly brought the gun and gave it to that girl, he said, is jailed in Carter Hall Juvenile Detention Center.

Pringle said the shooting is still under investigation. And while they don't know a motive just yet, Pringle said they know the shooting was not an accident.

"This was not just a couple kids playing with a gun," he said.

There were several teenagers at the home when the incident occurred.

Because of the shooting, the school district canceled the McLoud football game scheduled Friday night. That game was rescheduled and played on Saturday.
