As Cross Country season comes to the finish line, several area teams competed in state preparatory races. Shawnee runners head to Carl Albert for the Suburban Conference meet Tuesday.

Tecumseh's Kayla Magruder continued her dominance with a first place finish in the 5A/6A race at the Oklahoma Baptist University Pre State Challenge October 4 at Gordon Cooper Technology Center.

She placed about 30 seconds ahead of her closest competitor.

Jacey Cox from Tecumseh took 12th place and Anna Wendt came in at 25th.

In the boys race, Hayden McClure was the fastest Savage as he placed 16th and Alex Dickerson took 19th. John Cole came in 23rd for Tecumseh and Kyle Sowder placed 29th.

In the 3A race, Chandler's Emily Horn placed 10th. Annie Brannon was 28th and Valerie Morse placed 33rd for the Lady Lions. Chandler took 5th as a team. Prague took 12th as a team with Jenni Wyant at 49th as their only top 50 placer.

In the 4A race, Lelise Hands was the top placer at 13th for McLoud. She finished about 48 seconds behind the winner but only two seconds from 8th place.

Kamie Stafford was the top Seminole runner at 34th. No Bethel racers placed in the top 100.

In the 4A boys race, Seminole took 6th as a team with Richard Bolt leading the way with a second place finish. Darius Sewell can in 19th for the Chieftains and Michael Tiger was 50th.

Colton Ingmire was the top finisher for Bethel at 41st place. Kandon Mitchell was 82nd.

Ryon Dalrymple finished in 31st for McLoud. Pierre Garcia was 91st for the Redskins.
