Lincoln County’s current sales tax returns are higher than return from the same month a year ago, according to figures released recently by the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
The county’s returns for September 2007, at a tax rate of 1 percent, totaled more than $195,740. Returns for September 2008, at the same tax rate, total more than $229,690.
Lincoln County’s returns to date for the 2008-09 fiscal year total more than $668,700, and totaled more than $530,360 during the same period of the 2007-08 fiscal year. The 2008-09 fiscal year began July 1.
At the city level, Chandler’s sales tax returns (at a tax rate of 4 percent) increased from more than $166,000 for September 2007 to more than $221,990 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased from more than $476,560 to more than $636,630 over the same period.
Meeker’s returns, at a tax rate of 3 percent, decreased slightly, going from more than $20,530 for September 2007 to just over $20,170 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date decreased as well, going from more than $63,830 for September 2007 to just over $63,560 for September 2008.
Pragues’ sales tax returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, increased from more than $48,600 fro September 2007 to more than $84,500 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased from more than $198,280 to more than $252,780 over the same period.
Davenport’s returns, at a tax rate of 3 percent, increased from more than $7,190 for September 2007 to more than $17,000 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased from more than $22,100 for September 2007 to more than $35,420 for September 2008.
Carney’s sales tax returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, increased from more than $8,300 for September 2007 to more than $10,700 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased as well, going from more than $24,700 to more than $41,250.
Agra’s returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, increased from more than $5,340 for September 2007 to more than $6,900 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased from more than $15,240 fro September 2007 to more than $18,690 for September 2008.
Wellston’s sales tax returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, increased from more than $26,710 for September 2007 to more than $27,000 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased as well, going from more than $71,800 to more than $78,670.
Sparks’ returns, at a tax rate of 3 percent, increased from more than $800 for September 2007 to more than $1,330 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased from more than $1,820 for September 2007 to more than $3,250 for September 2008.
Stroud’s sales tax returns, at a tax rate of 3 percent, increased from more than $87,240 for September 2007 to more than $97,290 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased as well, going from more than $247,870 to more than $292,120.
Kendrick’s returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, decreased slightly, going from more than $1,790 for September 2007 to just over $1,770 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased, however, going from more than $3,290 for September 2007 to more than $4,840 for September 2008.
Tryon’s sales tax returns, at a tax rate of 4 percent, increased from more than $3,900 for September 2007 to more than $4,100 for September 2008. The city’s returns to date increased as well, going from more than $9,920 to more than $11,800.
