Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Store, 1201 N. Harrison, will close 10:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11 and the new, 5,765-square-foot Model W building will open the next morning at 937 N. Harrison.
Customers visiting the new Braum’s will find a “huge fresh market, a larger fountain area, increased seating, automatic doors and a double drive-thru,” Andie Schwab, public relations, said.
“We went from the very first model to our latest on this one,” she said. “We’re offering so many different products now. We have everything from paper towels to pomegranate juice.”
The new building provides seating for about 86 guests. A staff of at least 50 people, an increase in the number employed at the current store on Harrison, is standard for the Model W stores.
The transition to the new store is expected to occur without any lapse in availability to customers, Schwab said.
“The night before, the old store at Harrison will close at the regular time and the new one will open with breakfast,” she said.
Applications are being accepted at all Braum’s locations for the new store, Schwab said.
