Shawnee Medical Center Clinic added a new member to its staff.
Dr. Stephanie J. Toth, Oklahoma City, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Medical School, holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a master’s degree in history of science both from OU.
Toth practices family medicine and met Dr. Vail Stephens during her first year of residency and inquired about Shawnee.
“As residency continued and I started getting serious about looking for a permanent position, I called Vail and visited Shawnee,” she said.
After speaking with Unity Hospital and meeting CEO Jeff Griffin at SMCC she was hooked.
“I was intrigued by the complete care that was offered at Shawnee Medical Center Clinic,” Toth said. “They offer patients so many levels of care, from lab work to complete radiological services, from acute doctor visits to endoscopy. I am very excited to have both primary care and specialists all within the same group.”
Toth said family medicine allows her to work with patients in a wide spectrum of medical needs.
“I liked most rotations when I was in medical school and family medicine let me combine several of these such as obstetrics, pediatrics and medicine,” Toth said. “Mostly it’s the little things I love about medicine like helping patients with allergies, earaches, or well-baby checks, but it’s also very satisfying to take a complex problem, distill it down and come up with a positive solution.”
