Area students earn ECU awards

Several Shawnee area students received awards from East Central University’s College of Health and Sciences during the 2007-08 academic year.
Alicia Flick of Meeker, a nursing student, received the Nursing Alumni Award, worth $250, and the Oklahoma State Medical Alliance-Anne Garrison Nursing Scholarship, worth $2,000.
The Thomas J. McKnight Scholarship went to Brandon Banks and Jessie Wooten, both of Shawnee, and the ECU Foundation Chemistry Award went to Rachel A. Young of Shawnee.
Sarah Newell of Earlsboro received the Outstanding Sophomore Computer Science Major Award, as well as the Pfeffer Scholarship.
Heath Quiett of Wewoka received the Brown Mackin Scholarship, and Naseam Mayahi of Seminole received the first Shelby Jane Bays Memorial Scholarship.
