Redistricting has changed 15 precinct boundaries in Lincoln County, so about 1,700 affected voters there have been mailed new voter identification cards with their new polling places.
Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh said the precinct boundaries change every 10 years following redistricting of congressional, legislative and county commissioner districts based on census reports to ensure populations are equal.
In Lincoln County, she said the changes affected about 1,700 of the county’s 18,444 registered voters. New voter identification cards have been mailed to those voters, who will now cast their ballots at the new polling places, including the upcoming election on Feb. 14.
Another change for Lincoln County is that Precincts 7 and 13 are combined into one location at Carney Community Center, she said, but the two precinct areas will be separated into two different lines for voters of each precinct.
